A refinement of the already well-known Gabbeh rugs: That is this Persian Gabbeh Loribaft. With its finer weave and beautiful design, it knows how to impress. It was hand-knotted by Loren in southern Persia from the best hand-spun sheep's wool. Only pure vegetable dyes are used to colour the wool. With this rug, you get the highest standard of Gabbeh rug for your home.

Persian Gabbeh

This beautiful rug is a Persian Gabbeh and therefore belongs to the highest-quality Gabbeh rugs. These rugs are hand-knotted by nomads or semi-nomads in Iran using traditional craftsmanship. The simple motifs and patterns are usually inspired by the nomads’ immediate surroundings. For example, camels, trees or bushes can be found on these traditional rugs. Persian Gabbeh rugs are made from wool from locally kept flocks of sheep. The wool is therefore usually still hand-spun. As a result, each of these oriental rugs embodies the unique character of centuries-old culture.

Natural wool and pure silk

A combination of arguably the finest qualities of sheep’s wool and pure silk. Natural wool is known for its high durability, dirt-repellent properties and thermal insulation. At the same time, the silk content creates a unique sheen that seems to glow from the right angle. Silk embellishments add striking accents to the design, creating a real wow factor. Even today, silk is a symbol of pure luxury. It is painstakingly harvested by hand and woven into textile fibres.

Hand-knotted

Traditionally hand-knotted rugs still represent the highest quality standard among all types of rug. Depending on the knotting technique, these rugs are extremely hard-wearing and can last for generations. The finer and denser a rug is knotted, the more detailed the ornaments and patterns that can be shown in the pile. At the same time, a very fine oriental rug requires significantly more manual work, as well as a higher level of experience and skill from the weaver. Knot density is therefore also a key factor in the value of hand-knotted rugs. However, quality is not directly linked to knot density. A more coarsely knotted rug can still be made to an excellent standard.
